Sports have always meant a lot to me. My fondest memories include sitting at the edge of my seat watching soccer matches with my father on weekend afternoons as we bonded over our fandom. The emotions sports can instill in people, whether it be sadness, frustration, empathy or euphoria, are boundless and I work to convey those feelings through my writing. I love sports, I love writing and I love the combination of the two the most.
As a student at Rutgers University, I have fully immersed in covering all levels of the school's athletics. I began my journey at the Daily Targum, the school's student-run independent newspaper, as a contributing writer covering the women's track and field team. From there I worked my way up to staff writer, then associate sports editor before earning the title of sports editor. I covered everything from women's lacrosse to men's soccer, men's basketball (twice) to football on the climb up, sharpening my storytelling skills every day.
As my time with the Targum comes to a close, the window of opportunity to fine-tune my abilities with another organization is opening up fast.
